What you will do ...

  • Help plan and run community activations (open days, caregiver talks, sport-for-development pop-ups).
  • Recruit and register participants; manage sign-in, name tags, and simple feedback cards.
  • Coordinate logistics (venue setup, sound, shade/water, materials).
  • Build relationships with CHVs, chiefs/assistant chiefs, school heads, and youth leaders.
  • Capture short stories and quotes with consent; channel to Comms team.
  • Keep tidy outreach records (who, where, topics, approximate reach).

You will be good at this if ...

  • Love people, can speak clearly to groups, and enjoy moving parts.
  • Are punctual, comfortable with basic logistics, and calm under pressure.
  • Bonus: experience running community events.

Supervision

  • Community Engagement Officer (weekly 1:1). Day-of oversight by event lead.

Key Outputs

  • 1–2 activations/week delivered; contact list updated; short after-action note within 24 hours.

Safeguarding & Conduct

  • Obtain permissions for photos/quotes; separate adult/child consent; avoid sharing identifiable info publicly.

Success looks like

  • Strong attendance; returning partners; clean data capture; positive community feedback.

Training & Tools

  • Outreach playbook; event checklists; consent and registration templates; phone/data stipend per policy.

Standard Requirements

  • Eligibility: 18+, good conduct/police clearance certificate, 1 character reference (former teacher, employer, someone who can vouch for you).
  • Induction: Safeguarding, code of conduct, role-specific training, site tour.
  • Hours: Typically Mon–Fri; occasional Saturdays for events. Schedules agreed weekly.
