What you will do ...

  • Support staff to deliver age-appropriate GBV prevention & child rights awareness (consent, safe relationships, digital safety, help-seeking).
  • Prepare dignified info materials and referral cards; maintain discreet info corner.
  • Sit in as a note-taker during group dialogues (no counselling), capturing themes and questions.
  • Map local referral pathways (hotlines, social workers, hospitals) and keep them updated.
  • Assist with 16 Days of Activism and similar campaigns (booths, marches, school talks).
  • Log basic session data and red-flag disclosures to the safeguarding focal person immediately.

You will be good at this if ...

  • Are grounded, non-judgmental, and can hold space for sensitive topics.
  • Understand confidentiality and informed consent; know when to escalate.
  • Bonus: prior GBV/rights awareness facilitation.

Supervision

  • Protection & Safeguarding Lead (weekly 1:1). Close liaison with School Guidance Counsellors.

Key Outputs

  • 2–3 awareness sessions/week supported; refreshed referral map; secure log of red-flags/escalations.

Safeguarding & Conduct

  • Strict no-counselling boundary; no promises of secrecy; follow reporting flow within 2 hours of disclosure.

Success looks like

  • Accurate, timely escalations; teachers report improved awareness; youth can name at least 2 safe services.

Training & Tools

  • Do-no-harm basics; survivor-centred principles; confidentiality handling; approved scripts & IECs.

Standard Requirements

  • Eligibility: 18+, good conduct/police clearance certificate, 1 character reference (former teacher, employer, someone who can vouch for you).
  • Induction: Safeguarding, code of conduct, role-specific training, site tour.
  • Hours: Typically Mon–Fri; occasional Saturdays for events. Schedules agreed weekly.
